Have 1/2 Dome, Will Travel

Hello Everyone

I am back from my studies in Europe, and it was as inspiring and even more challenging than I had expected it to be.

The Long Haul
Long haul travel certainly has it's stressful moments, but it is also an opportunity to watch 6 movies in a row (the kind your family are embarrassed to see with you - the new Cinderella is awesome by the way! - hey, I had been flying for 12 hours by that point).

You also have the challenge of finding ways to look after your poor body which is none too thrilled about sitting in the same position 20 + hours. Fortunately we changed planes a few times. I noticed in between flights that most people would get off the plane after sitting for 7 hours, and then go into the next lounge waiting for the next flight and sit again. So no prizes for guessing that we didn't do that.

Weird Airport People
Instead we went for a walk, did a calf stretch, double calf stretch, toe stretch, side bend, thoracic release and some squats. We just used whatever was around, pillars, chair handles. You name it. At first I was a solo agent, but in the end my Mum just joined in rather than pretend she didn't know me. Here is the evidence.

My Mum deciding that if you can't avoid them, you might as well join them - at Singapore airport. Waiting for our next flight.

What's Next for Term 3?
It was a very intense training and I have a lot to process over the next few months but you will see new things coming into our classes from the very first week. Each week we will focus on specific areas of the body and (as always) try to increase our understanding of the every day activities, tensions and movement habits that can amount to bone degeneration and a raft of other painful problems. Importantly we also learn how to correct these issues in a way that can work in your every day life.

Using our Somatic Yoga and Restorative Exercise techniques we aim to find the optimal ways to move that build and maintain strength through the whole body. A very important part of this is learning to let go of stress. We will be propping ourselves more this term, and in week 1 you will receive the 1A Handout of the Restorative Exercise™ series that will help you keep on top of daily home maintenance.

This is the Restorative Exercise ™ Gang about to head off on a walking workshop. I'm 3rd from left. There were 20 students and 8 teachers!

What About Short Courses and Workshops
Yes they are coming! I do plan to introduce some new small group sessions and also run some workshops, but that won't be until later in term 3. I still have a large project to finish to complete my qualification as a Restorative Exercise Specialist but it will happen.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

(PS. Legs up the wall gets a new look too!)
